Qualification:
The candidate should hold Masters degree (University Degree) from a reputable University in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies or other related field.
Required Experience:
Professional Experience of minimum seven years in project management and coordination
Minimum seven years experience of working in the areas of SRHR.
A candidate should hold experience in providing assistance to countries including Health Ministries on issues that are related to SRHR in the EAST and Southern Africa
A candidate should hold experience in management of complex and large scale projects
A candidate should hold previous experience with UN or any other International Organization
Other Requirement:
A candidate should speak local as well as English Language
A candidate should be able to work in diverse environment
A candidate should be capable of solving the problems
A candidate should be able to supervise the lower staff
A candidate should be well informed about the local laws.
A candidate should be computer literate
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to coordinate efforts in partnership with regional UN entities and stakeholders. The candidate will be providing technical assistance to partner states on SRHR. The candidate will be required to help in achieving the goals of SRHR.
The Programme Specialist will help UNFPA to achieve the goals, work in relations with other United Nations Agencies, to enhance the productivity of health related projects and services.
The candidate will be required to develop and implement annual workplan to advance SRHR goals. Identify and provide assistance to states with developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting the SRHR activities.
The candidate will be required to manage the knowledge. The candidate will be responsible of strengthening and enhancing programme performance, and assessing and implementing research to advance outputs.
The candidate will be responsible for supervisory arrangements. The consultant will work under the supervision of Program Manager and will be responsible to report to the former.
The candidate will be responsible to deliver monthly electronic report and progress report to the UNFPA.
The consultant will be responsible to travel within the region to achieve country sized activities.
